    Default Greetings from Montreal

    Hello all,

I've been interested for a while in straight razors and finally decided to take the leap too it (just calculated that I spent 300$ in mac3 razors in the past year and a half... ouch)

Plus the girlfriend decided to buy me one all included. *grin*

Anyone know a good place to go in Montreal to purchase a razor?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
There are two forum sponsors in Canada who you should consider,
    Fendrihan &
    Rasage Poulin.
You'd be safer buying from them, even if it's mail order than a local shop till you have a bit more experience.
Buy "shave ready" & don't forget a strop.
    Good luck!

Welcome to SRP. I don't know a good place up there but I do know Straight Razor Design does a real good job for those just getting started. Every razor they sell has been professionally sharpened. Just beginning make sure you spend time in the WIKI there is so much excellent information for newbies. It is the place to help you learn. Also, there's always someone who will help here when you have a question. Str8 shaving is not like picking up a mach 3 and going at it. It is an art in itself so be patient it does take time to learn. Good luck.

Why not buy here, in the classified. New razor can be quite expensive. You could see if you like shaving with a straight and if not, probably resell it for what you paid.

Vasco Cigars 1327 St-Catherine West sells DOVOs but very over priced. You could try a few Centre du rasoir, some use to sell straight razors at a more competitive price.

But I still think you'd be better off buying in the classifieds.

Some guys here are from Montreal (I'm one) so maybe one of them could sell you one.

    Good luck,

    Mckie
