Thanked: 190Keep it up. Yes, my face got a little conditioned to the straight razor as well. I would show my wife after one of my first full face BBS shaves, "check out this shave!" and she would say, "but your face looks red!" 30 minutes later, the redness went away.
You are off to a great start! Keep that blade sharp and prep the face well!

Two things that worked well for me for sideburns:
1. Use spine of blade to outline sideburns in lather.
2. Stretch with off hand overhead, i.e. left hand to stretch above right sideburn. Looks silly, but gives you an unobstructed view of that area.
Seach the Wiki for "shaving videos", we have quite a few good ones in there.
