Another newbie introducing
Gentlemen,
Here is another newbie to SRP from the island of Hirvensalo, near Turku, SW Finland (a place you propably have never heard of).
Been a 'beard plane' (or DE as you say) user for ages, but got my late grandfathers razors (Heartring and Hellberg) for about 2 years ago. At first i only cleaned them, and few months later decided to sharpen and try them. Of course it didn't go this easy at first, but time is learning and today i shave with them every now and then (with no wounds anymore).
This far i thought there are not many straight shavers in the world, but found out to be wrong again when i found this website. It has been most informative as well as interesting to read the topic about the razors and specially restoring them. I've restored several traditional hand tools (chisels, planes etc) to get them back to work again, and now it seems that i have to start watching for eBay to get some razor project there.
Lastly, sorry for my poor school-English.

Welcome to SRP. Glad that you are successfully shaving with your grandfather's razors and found the forum.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Welcome to SRP!
Your English is better than some English people I know!
I'm just starting to get into razor restoration myself and this site is a goldmine of useful information.

Welcome, Sailor
You're in for a fun ride now. And don't worry about your English. It's no worse than many native speakers I encounter.

This stuff is very additive, I have such a hard time stopping myself from BUYING BUYING BUYING. It all looks so good and I must try it all.
