Thanked: 0Hello Gentlemen
Hello,
I have been intrigued by straights for a long time and time has come for me to make the step and start the learning process.
According to my research on this forum I should get a 5/8 or 6/8 hollow ground carbon steel rounded.... Let me know if this is wrong.
I have been looking through the classified section of the forum and I would appreciate any guidance...
Thanks.

Thanked: 15I would recommend a 5/8 round point full hollow and have it honed by one of the masters on this site. There are plenty of nice razors for a reasonable price to start.

Welcome to SRP!
I started with a 5/8 round point half hollow and feel it was ideal.

Welcome. 5/8 is where I started also. Make sure you spend plenty of time with the beginners section of the WIKI
Beginner's guide to straight razor shaving - Straight Razor Place Wiki
Be patient and take your time I haven't met anyone who has mastered str8's in a day (almost 2 months for me and I'm still having those ah ha moments regularly).
