Thread: To Strop or not to Strop that is the question.

If honed professionally, it should give a presentable shave out of the box. Don't forget to wipe off the oil.

After my first shave with a new razor (professionally honed) I give it 15 passes on the .50 micron pasted paddle strop, then go to the canvass 25 passes/leather strop, 40 - 50 passes and wow, it feels sharper and smoother on the next shave.

Just carefully wipe of the oil and shave.

When you are truly new to the game it is so easy to do evil things to your razor when stropping I know !

For my second shave with my Wapi (first strop), I not only chewed the strop up, but I rolled the edge of the razor !!

Blueprinciple kindly re-honed the Wapi for me, and sent me a beater razor to practice stropping with. That set me on the road to happiness !!
