    Default It is me!

Hi joined other day but been reading from afar for a little while. very interested in SRS but taking it steady, like most hobbys (which i regard it as?) takes a bit of research to put my money into it wisely i think!
its kind of strange as from as soon as i could shave i only ever trimmed with hair clippers and never bought a gillette plastic thingy. then one day get the idea, and now i just want to shave all time, and anyone else close enough! as im from UK its a bit of a challange here but it will be worth it! first step to be razor and strop! i wont ask theres plenty of reading already!!

mbwoosh is quite right. We have a great many members on your side of the pond, and elsewhere besides.

Right off the top of my head I can think of members from the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany, The Phillipeans and Taiwan.

    I'm from the UK!

Mbwhoosh is right about The Invisible Edge being the place to order from if you want a brand new, pre-honed straight razor, or you can check out the classifieds here as most people are willing to sell to people all over the world for a little extra on the shipping costs. Of course, you can order from just about anywhere, but customs charges might make your choices prohibitive.

    Hello Yorkshireman.
There are as few of us over this side. It can be a bit more expensive, but there are plenty of suppliers. On the plus side, there are some amazing soaps & creams over here that are cheaper than they are in the States. Hones can be a little harder to find, but as mentioned, the classifieds are a great source of just about anything you'd need. There are ways to limit the damage that customs & excise can inflict!

Welcome to SRP, you'll find a great and friendly knowledge base here. As for your statement "like most hobbys (which i regard it as?) "( love the question mark). This may start out that way but pretty much guaranteed it will be much more. Str8 shaving is an art all to itself. There is so much that encompasses it. Restoring, Honing, Mugs, Brushes, After shaves, Soaps, Strops the list goes on and on. It seems the more you will learn the more you wish to learn. What a vicious circle. If you're like the rest of us you'll wade in about knee deep then jump head first enjoying every minute spent. Again let me welcome you and wish you the best of luck with this endeavor.
