    alcohol or alcohol based AS will burn my face regardless, there is even a slight burn if I apply before shaving. I would never use a moisturizer on my face - too oily for me.

    cold water rinse, Alum block, warm water rinse, witch hazel, warm water rinse, nivea A/S

    +1 on the alum block. Tells you if you shaved too close and then helps you get over it, all at the same time.

    Very true. The only thing I don't like about it is that if I apply moisturizer afterwards, it doesn't seem to fully absorb into my skin.

    +1 on all counts. I feel cheated if my bay rum or whatever doesn't burn a little. One of the things I look forward to and I don't get razor burn after the shave.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Another +1 on the Alum block. Same reasons as RazorPete. It's just better at the job.
