ADVENTURES OF A STRAIGHT EDGE VIRGIN
I'VE JUST JOINED SRP A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT'S ONLY BEEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS SINCE I DECIDED, THE CATALYST IS STILL UNKNOWN, THAT I WANTED TO GET A VINTAGE RAZOR OR TWO. FIRST BECAUSE THEIR COOL COLLECTABLES THAT AREN'T THAT EXPENSIVE, AND MIGHT EVEN INCREASE IN VALUE, AND SECONDLY BECAUSE I ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO SHAVE WITH ONE.
WELL, AFTER GLEANING AS MUCH INFO FROM HERE, (SRP) AND THERE AS MY TINY BRAIN COULD ABSORB, AND ALSO SPEAKING TO A REAL NICE GUY FROM TENNESSEE LAST SUNDAY WHO SELLS SHAVE READY RAZORS ON E-BAY AND ALSO WORKS ON THEM, I MADE MY FIRST TWO PURCHASES.
MY CHERRY POPPER WAS A DOBL DUCK WONDEREDGE 9/16" WITH IT'S BOX, BOTH IN GOOD TO VERY GOOD SHAPE, $71.35 WITH S/H.
MY SECOND CHOICE WAS A C-MON SUPER XX 5/8" WITH IT'S BOX, BOTH IN VERY GOOD TO MINT CONDITION, $86.00 SHIPPING INCL.
BOTH WILL BE SENT TO MY NEW FRIEND BOB IN TENN. WHO WILL HAVE CARTE BLANCHE TO DO WHATEVER IS NEEDED TO GET BOTH BACK TO THEIR BEST SHAPE. THE C-MON NEEDS LITTLE WORK, THE WONDEREDGE MORE SO.
I SHOULD MENTION THAT IN ORDER TO PREVENT BRAIN LOCK AND POSSIBLY BLINDNESS, I LIMITED MY E-BAY OPTIONS TO RAZORS WITH THEIR ORIGINAL BOXES IN GOOD OR BETTER CONDITION.
MY THANKS TO ALL YOU SRP MEMBERS AND TO LYNN, IT'S FOUNDER, FOR HOPEFULLY GIVING ME THE BASIC INFO I NEEDED SO I DIDN'T TOTALLY CRAP OUT. ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
MICHAEL

Welcome to SRP. Since you've already perused the forum I won't bother showing you links. The only comment I would make is that typing in all caps is known as SHOUTING in internet speak and is more difficult for the reader. Good luck with your forthcoming razors and shaves.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Re. Adventures of a SEV.
Hi Jimmy,
Please forgive my internet faux pas as it was not my intention to shout at any anyone. I am simply a half blind old man who finds it easier to type in CAPITAL LETTERS for the obvious reason.
However, I realize that there are other with the same, or worse, handicap and if they can get by without shouting, so will I.
Thanks for the heads up,
Michael
