    Default silvertip badger shave brush

just got a new silvertip badger shaving brush and used it the first time and really liked the way it lathered up the soap. but i notice this morning that it has a really strong odor coming from the brush, it is almost like the smell of a wet wild animal. as this was a present i would like to keep it and also i am sure it was bought off ebay at one of the import sellers..any adivce?

Put a little shampoo and conditioner in the bottom of a mug or bowl, add warm water and thoroughly swirl your brush in it. Rinse the brush afterwards and let it dry. You may have to do this a few times till the badger funk goes, or you can just carry on using your brush and wait it out.

The smell of wet badger. It is common and usually will go away after a few shaves, or yuu can wash it with dish washing soap.

It is sort of like a new car smell. Does not last long, but it is no where close to as nice . Mine faded in just a few shaves.

That odor is an indication that the brush is completely worthless. Mail it to me to dispose! (Just kidding, guys)

Wet wild animal eh? Sounds kind of kinky to me dude.

Actually it will eventually go away by itself but as others have said some mild shampoo or some borax in warm water and let it soak a while and it will disappear. Personally I kind of like it though.
