First Full Straight Shave
Didin't know if I was ever gonna get a chance to post this, but I finaly managed to shave my entire face with a straight. It took forever and it may be a bit rough around the chin but I'm sure that will get better.
I have to admit I'm a little more excited about it than I though I would be, just thought I'd share with all of you.

Congrats, mate.
I've been shaving full face for a week or so, but I think I'm getting a hang of the routine, actually managing to drag myself out of the bed earlier to shave. Today had a pretty stingless alumrub on my cheeks. Bottom of neck stung like a bee though.

congrats on the shave!
They will get better and faster (though some debate whether that is good thing or not) you might try shaving before you go to bed. That way you have more time to go slow a do a really good job that will last the rest of the day

I experienced stinging and burning to some degree early on, even with sharp blades. Now, not much at all. I chalk the improvement up to (1) technique and (2) blade improvement.
#1 - Technique - The technique improvement, above all others, that I believe reduced the stinging and burning was incorporating various slicing motions in the blade stroke. These are scary at first, so go slow, and only use them in an easy spot or two until you feel comfortable expanding. There's information out there about these motions... scything, leading with tip, etc... so won't say more.
#2 - Blade Improvement - Even with sharp blades, if the edge of the blade was not straight (when viewed from the side with a 100x microscope), or if the bevel was not smooth, I experienced some discomfort in the shave.

I already shave in the evening, I find it more relaxing. Besides I'm not a morining person, I cannot get myself out of bed in time to shave (not even with enough time to shave with a cartridge razor)
Yes, infact the bulldog in my avatar is actually my bulldog his name is Smudge. I've had smudge for 3 years now and my best two tips for new bulldog owners (since you recently got one) is...
They are more stubborn than you think, so you gotta be patient.
Most get really stinky if you feed em improperly; a good diet is important.
Good luck with your new pup.
