Default Newbie saying Hi and asking q's

    Great site!!
I've just registered and wondered if I could ask a couple of questions about my razor? Perhaps you knowledgeable folk could give me some info on it?

It's a new (to me) and unused German razor in the original box with an instruction sheet.

    The box is marked:
    J.A. Henckels
    Zwillingswerk AG
    Solingen Germany

The razor itself has an ivory coloured handle with 'Friodur' written on it and with a logo of two figures.
The blade also says 'Friodur' and also 'Inox - no stain' and '50 1/2' as well as the makers name again.

    Is this a quality razor?

Any information will be very gratefully received, thank you!!

    Justin

I know nothing about razors, but I think that is a quality blade. Should do you very well.

Oh, and welcome to the site!!

Post count doesn't mean much . . . I only own a few razors. I hone them, strop them, and shave. I'm not a collector at all of razors. But I have seen a few examples of that razor and they all seemed really nice. I can sense the kind of steel I would like to shave with, and I think that would be one that I would like.

We have many members that probably own two or three of them, along with 60-100 more. I get anxious if I have more than 3 razors in the house at once.

Hi Justin welcome to the forum!
You have got a quality razor. Check out the razor club section although I didn't see one for J A Henckels they're another way of learning more about your brand of razor. If there isn't a club for them, start one.Plenty members have J.A.'s I'm sure.

Oh and a picture of the razor would be nice.

    Hi and welcome onboard!

J.A. Henckels / Friodor are among the best razors.

Have no fear, Henckels are very good razors. Welcome to the site and make sure you post some pics of your razor when you get chance.
