    Sounds like your razor probably wanst shave ready. The best thing to do is to send it out to a honemeister to have it honed.

    Alot of sellers list razors as shave ready when in fact they arent!

    In terms of tuition I would highly recommend Lynns DVD available from straight razor designs. This has in depth tutorials on shaving, honing and stropping etc...

    There are also some great Youtube vids out there as well if you search for "razor stropping" or "straight razor shaving". Jockeys has done a great shaving lesson on there for a start!

    I'm not sure if there are any honemeisters from Australia on here, so you might need to mail your razor to someone. Sorry I cant be more help here!
