Thread: long-winded intro, first honing, first shave

Have you actually tried that?

Did you freehand the blade edge or did you use some type of guide? How comfortable was the shave?

I can shave arm hair and whittle hair and all that, but I've never tried to shave my face with a folding knife.

I used a guide-system for sharpening, basically a modified EdgePro to get the desired angle, and finished it by stropping freehand on diamond paste. The shave was very good, the same as with a straight razor. If I am to do it again though, I would cut off the tip of the knife next time.
