Thanked: 0New to straight razors!
Hi all,
Just a check in post - I've been lurking for a few days and this site has been really helpful in my quest to straight shave! Thanks for all the great info!
I'm in the process of resotring some old vintage straights before I send them off to be honed and then fingers crossed, can start shaving with them!

Hi welcome to SRP. Once you've restored your razors, post a few pics. It sounds like you know your way around the site and have found the documentation. Starting out educated is the way to go. Hope your first shaves go well.

Welcome aboard!!! Glad to see you take the jump and post. This will be the beginning of a wonderful journey for you. Keep reading and immersing yourself in all the knowledge at your disposal here. When you're actually ready to shave for the first time REMEMBER TO TAKE IT SLOWWWWW!!!! Never get over confident and never under estimate the razor. It is best to start by doing just parts of your face that are easier till you develope a "feel" for straight shaving. After a few times you will be ready to do a full shave. Do not get down if you are not satisfied with your first few shaves. There is an art to straight shaving that takes practice and patience to achieve a great shave.
ENJOY!Having Fun Shaving

welcome to srp
if you haven't already stop by the workshop section and the restoration articles in the wiki - there's no better info on the subject anywhere else.
