Newbie from Missouri
Hi folks, I'm looking to get into shaving with a straight razor. I'm a long time brush and soap user, approx. 40 years, but (cringe) I've been using a Bic.
The brush I have was my father's and says Plastiset 600N Nylon Rubberset Made in the USA. Clear handle, nickel-like ring and obviously nylon bristles. I may upgrade but it works for me.
Anyway, I'm in here to learn about razors, honing and stropping. Oh yeah, and how to use a straight without bleeding to death.

nun2sharp, I'm near a small town called Defiance which is just west of St. Louis. Seems to be a fair number of Missourians on here.

Having grown up in Northern Ohio, I'd take Cape over that. I was born and raised in Ashland and my wife is from just west of you on Hwy 18, Wellington.

Welcome to SRP. Though I live in Knoxville TN now I use to live on the IL side of the river and worked in St. Louis for 10 years. You're close to Chesterfield I don't know of anyone from right there but you are within an hour of some good members. By the way if there's another Mid- MO meet up we may just have to come up to visit (2Sharp is my Father-in- law). It don't seem like we get back enough anyway. Again welcome and good luck.
