FINALLY got my first SR shave!
Just had my first SR shave. I live in a fraternity house in a suite of 5 guys; they were rooting for me the whole way (I think they wanted to see myself get cut though haha). I nicked under the right side of my jaw a bit; I really need to watch that horizontal motion a little better, but it was nothing the styptic pencil couldn't clean right up. It took about 45 minutes total. I used the Antique Boker Rastus No 51 that hi_bud_gl honed for me. I did a WTG pass then went partly XTG and partly ATG. Result was mostly BBS. I almost got nicked a couple times from the spike point, but I was careful enough to avoid it. It was definitely the best shave I've ever had and I can't wait to actually get good at this stuff

And I'm going to be working on converting the suite-mates into SR shaving, I'll just need a couple more shaves to show them how awesome it is (although I fear they may subconsciously feel they are too cool for it). I'll keep working on it!

great job and welcome to the club. so who or what got you started? i wish i knew about straights when i was younger. also cant go wrong with a boker. tell your roomies its about time to MAN UP !

Congratulations! I wish I had started when I was in college. Enjoy your shaves and try to convert those roomies of yours. We can always use new "blood" in our fold.
