Default Not an Angry Noob Anymore!

For those of you in my last thread:

Thanks again! Here are those better pics I finally got around to taking. I also have another razor,an "Artist", and it works! $12 at the flea market. I had seen it several times but didn't think I liked the handle. lol Best razor I own. Needs a little more bevel I think, but I just shaved with it. Used my belt for a strop (thank you forums!) and spent 30 minutes attacking my 4 day beard. Had to cheat a bit on my neck...and I did this dry! Couldn't wait for soap...going to buy some today. Pics below, Artist is last.

Exactly. I'm wondering if I could swap the blade into my Kreagar scales...I do really like them...don't want to ruin a good thing though.

Does anyone know what brand that yellow razor is? I see the brand mark, but no name.

The problem with the Kriegar scales is that they use 1/8" pins, where a normal straight razor uses 1/16" pins. But I suppose if the pivot hole on your blade were too large, it might work.

Unfortunately the only way to find out is to try, which means tearing your razor apart.

Dude the Yellow one is a Grah and Plumacher (spl) very good quality razora in my opinion, the Dub Duck you have at the top is also a quality item, Both need work obviously, but you have the foundations of a very cool rotation there my friend.

Also I can understand your impatience totally, however to experiance Straight shaving for what it really is you need to do it right, proper prep, a truly shave ready razor, and a few simple items to maintain it will transform your shaving experience. when it comes to shaving at least we are more like fine gentlemen than cave men you know..lol

If you want to send me 1 of your blades, I will gladly take care of making it shave ready fro you, free of charge, just pay the postage, altho there may well be a member closer to home than I am who is willing to do that for you.

    Good luck with it all

    Default Thanks!

I'm going tonight for soap and a towel. The wood handle razor really works great, but PM your address me and I'll mail you the Schumacher to hone. I'd like to compare my own honing/stripping with someone else's anyways.
