Hi, is it OK to use a vintage strop? The leather looks to be in good condition, not too dried out... I would greatly appreciate advice on purchasing a new strop, as well. Thanks!

A bit of neatsfoot oil would be good for the vintage strop as well, to give it back flexibility and draw.
That said, if/when you have the money I can't give a higher recommendation than Tony Miller. He is a gentleman, artisan, and all-around great guy who will give you the best advice, service, and product....

Thanked: 3Thanks for the advice. Pictures are attached. I must admit it's a bit hard to tell if the leather is OK from the photos. I have to assume the backside linen must be dried out.. on balance, maybe I had better purchase new...
