Thanked: 0Razor Question
Hey all!
First I'd like to introduce myself as I'm new to this forum. I'm in Philadelphia, PA. (Not "philly" "Philadelphia) and I've just started straight shaving recently. I came across a razor for sale on craigslist in the area and wanted to get some feedback on it.
DOVO Straight Razors
It is the model shown above.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

It is a quality piece. One I have been considering myself.

If you are already shaving well it is no big deal. The point, as you see in the photo, is squared off. You have to know where it is at all times. The only place I tend to get caught with such a point is in front of my ear. You'll develop a feel for it if you buy it. You can also dull the very point on a hone as some barbers I knew years ago would do.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 31thats a nice blade! if it is in good condition i would def pick that one up i dont see the spike point being any more dangerous than a round point something that sharp on your face can carve you like a turkey on thanksgiving, just take your time with it and remember to breathe

Thanked: 0The Art of Shaving
That is what I'm shaving with right now. I'm doing all right with it. Still a nick or cut with each shave, but I'm getting better at getting a smoother shave. What will be the noticeable differences between the former and the latter?

+1 on all said. Welcome you to SRP. Assuming you don't hone your own, if the razor doesn't come shave ready from the Craigslist seller, you should have it professionally honed. You can find someone in Member Services.

Good luck with the acquisition.
