If you want me to sharpen it for ya I would be glad to, just take care of postage. Shoot me a PM to let me know.

Even though it had a sad ending, it was still a great story

I would definitely get your hands on a shave ready razor, or get yours sharpened by one of the honemeisters here.

Your problem is that whatever you do from this point on you really need to shave with something you can compare future projects to. And don't even strop your "shave ready" or sharpened razor before you use it. That way if you screw it up stropping you'll know. Seems many people here complain about "shave ready" razors only because they ruined the edge by incorrect stropping before they even used it.

I do give you a lot of credit for all the time you put in.

Wow, thanks for all the support guys. I was just trying to share a funny story about what happens when a newbie tries to run before he can walk, and I've already received 2 generous offers to hone my razor for free. mainaman PM'ed me, and I've already made arrangements with him, but a big thanks to avatar1999 for his offer too. It never ceases to amaze me how friendly and generous you guys here at SRP (and across the street at B&B) are.

Actually, I'm a recent college grad, but sometimes it feels like I live a similar lifestyle.

It's a Geneva Cutlery hollow 5/8. I want to say full hollow, but I'm not too sure about that.

Anyway, I think eventually, your razor will show up. Have faith, and have your current razor honed professionally. Then, when it starts to dull, and only then, should you try to refresh it on the C12k....

BTW, Where are you in world...?
San Francisco, CA. It's cold and windy almost all the time.

Your well-written post reads like a novel. I really was expecting a happy end.

I don't collect razors, but I like getting them for a few bucks of Ebay and restoring them to a fully functional state.
The finished ones just take space on my desk, I mostly shave with razors I need to hone for other people.
If you send me an e-mail (click here) I'll send you a nice one for free, ready to shave your face out of the box.

    Well done sir!

But I'm confused... Does he keep his face in a box?? Perhaps he's related to Eleanor Rigby. She keeps her face in a jar by the door.
