Objective measure for a coarse beard?
Is there an objective measure for beard coarse-ness? Or is it like Justice Potter Stewart's definition of pornography: I'll now it when I see it.
Thanks,
Adrian.

I came to the realization that I wouldn't know if my beard was tough or coarse compared to others unless I was a barber shaving different people every day.
A barber such as member Gary Haywood might be able to tell how much difference he finds from one customer to another.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Give it a days growth then kiss your other half.
If she goes "Ow" then you have a tough beard..!Last edited by Stubear; 11-09-2009 at 02:05 PM.

Thanked: 14Has anyone actually measured the thickness of their beard hair? I might give it a go on the weekend after it's grown long enough to get hold of with some small pliers.
I read somewhere that the hair is comparative to copper wire of the same thickness.

Thanked: 14OK, I measured it, my calipers say 0.08 mm, so 80 microns I guess.
