One More Time
First and foremost, thank you, all of you, for your helpful discussions and instructions in the art of straight shaving...you saved my skin! I tried straight shaving back in the early 70's with an old razor I managed to pick up somewhere and sharpened on an old stone. None too pleasant an experience. I'm pleased to say after scouring this site, videos etc. I have taken it up once again and it's been a much better experience. Been at it a couple weeks now and only a few nicks and a bit of chin burn...it's getting better though and my old Gillette DE has been idle ever since and I'm actually enjoying shaving once again. Guess you could call me an "old newbie". This site has been an inspiration! Good job to all of you!

Hi Willie,
Glad to hear you're enjoying it.
I was watching one of Lynn's segments last night and he said something I didn't pay much attention to the first time I saw it - shaving with a straight really puts you in a good frame of mind for the rest of the day. And since I started I have to agree with this - there is something inexplicably special about the act, and one's attitude after completing it.
Cheers,
Rob
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!
