    Default another 1st timer

well i received my first SR today and finally had the chance to try it out. boy its sharp! i purchased from Bob Keyes, AKA Altima55/bobsrazors.com.
i heard some good things from him and checked out his website. i found one that i really liked so i bought it. anyways....

unfortunately i had no shaving soap at hand. i also had a very short, thick, barely shavable beard due to the fact i just shaved last night. i also COMPLETELY understand why SR users don't use Barbasol shaving cream which can be found at walmart for about a $1.25. it drys the hell out of your face and doesn't really allow the razor to glide. since im planning on a 2nd attempt sometime this weekend, i purchased online some shaving soap from a user that's about 20 miles from here. hopefully i get it before then because i am not whatsoever shaving with that one buck chuch walmart shaving cream crap!

as far as my actual 1st shave, it went pretty good! i had my styptic pencil ready but no need to use it! i will continue to stay active on this forum and do my usual research. thanks everyone!

Congratulations! If there is a Bath & Body Works near you, check out the C.O. Bigelow shaving cream. It makes a great lather. The large tube should be about $10 and will last a while.

Welcome to SRP, Chris. Do get some good cream (or soap) in the meantime. It really makes all the difference.
