Ouch - that was dumb!
After 24 hours it looks like it will heal up fine. Yes... I know... my technique sucks. 15 shaves in and I think I'll take a day off from shaving. The good news is that my honing is progressing much better - the junktique store razors are wonderful honing instructors.
At the time of "the incident" I was trying too hard and definitely NOT relaxed. I should have put down the razor and finished with the DE. Lesson learned.

Man, sorry to hear about your cut. As you said, you were not relaxed. I did something similar to one of my cheeks about a month ago, mine was worse though. I have to say that although technique probably had something to do with it, cuts do happen to the most experienced shavers. It only takes a fraction of a second of losing focus and slashhhhh!!! You will not forget this, that is all I can say. After a month, you can barely mine. I believe your will go away too. I used some aloe vera at first and after it healed, I applied copious amounts of cocoa butter, both have a good reputation.
Al raz.

I know how you feel, being even fresher to the SR. I had a couple occasions where I wasnt thinking while around the chin and the blade gave me a week long souvenir for doing so. Good luck.

Sorry 'bout what happened there mate; but I think it is part of the learning process... You may cut yourself by being stressed, overconfident, hurried, and so I've heard, drunk (which, I must say, has never and, I hope, will never happen to me). Just gotta take it slow the first times... never put much pressure on the blade or try to pass it over difficult areas without being careful.
Reminds me of a cut I got a couple of weeks ago... it was about 2cm long, just under the nose (yep, extremely bad technique there - working on that).
Oh, and btw, a styptic or alum block may help a lot for those accidents.
Well, better luck on your next shaves mate... Work on that hand steadiness

Welcome to the club. After slicing up my chin, everybody seems to say the chin is a real problem area, I now use an electric on my chin before I start shaving. Once I get the rest of it down, I'll come back and carefully work on the chin.
Right now I'm in the process of slowly slicing away my adam's apple. Another couple of weeks and it will be gone.

AS draltamirano said he had heard of shaving whilst drunk.
Well I tried that once and never again will I do that!
I looked like something the cat a porcupine and a cactus had had equal goes at attacking and dam did it sting for a few days!
To be honest I was only tipsy but just goes to show how much concentration you actually put into a shave!
There will be more cuts and nicks to come thats for sure just see tha chin cut as a small trophy as no doubt the cabinet will get fuller!
