New to Straight Razors; first two shaves
I have had two days of shaving with the new straight razor; day one mainly just the sides of the face, day two just a bit more. All is well, and already it is the closest shaves I have ever had. Some redness, a little getting used to and learning curve, but, I am working on it and having fun. My wife was looking at me this morning and shaking her head. But, she likes it that I have something else to do in the am rather than bother her! Good fun. I have already got a second razor in case I have problems with my first and to have a back up if the #1 need to be sent out. As well, the second was just so dam cool looking that I could not resist it! Carlo

Thanked: 190Your are off to a smart start! Welcome to SRP and keep up the progress. It took me about 25 shaves and a diligent study of the Wiki and SRP forum to get comfortable with a full face shave and more consistent BBS success.
At 40 shaves, I finalized my technique and had all the perfect strokes, angles, and pitches memorized and at this point, I had 3 disposable straight blades and 1 fixed straight razor.
Consider yourself well on your way to becoming a renaissance man!

I'm a newbie and also bought a second razor for the same reasons. However, Lord knows how many I'll have before this addiction is over.
Sounds like your off to a good start.
