    Default Sweaty hands, who else?

I'm sure this has come up before, but I didn't find it in my search (admittedly, I am terrible at them). Sometimes my hands get kinda sweaty and it causes me to have a little trouble stropping. Is this common at all, and if so, is there anything you can do to stop it? If I stop and wipe my hands, they just get sweaty again right away. Should I just stop and try again later so as to make sure I don't damage my blade with a mis-strop or do you think I'll probably be OK as long as I'm careful?

On the plus side, I really think I'm getting pretty good with the straight. I've got a good number of shaves under my belt now and I can go much quicker than I used to in the beginning. I owe it all you to guys. THANKS!!!

    Jeremy

No mine don't. Is this a common occurrence when you are performing other tasks ? I do tattoos for a living and some of my customers will begin sweating profusely once I get started on them. This is more nerves than anything else as we keep the shop like a damn refrigerator. I have to dress warm or I am shivering cold. I'm just wondering if you are nervous about cutting your strop or rolling the edge ? IOW, maybe in time the sweating hands will ease up.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My hands sweat on planes. I don't know why, does my nut. They used to if I'd eaten crisps as well.

Anyway, the best cure I found was washing my hands in cold soapy water. Closes everything up or something I guess.

Powder can make your hands a bit slippery, too. Try spraying some antipersperant (sp?) on them. That should do it.

Man I don't like the Alum Block for after shaving, but before I pick up my C-Mon I swipe my wet fingers over the block and dry them.
After that my fingers get a great grip on my razor. They are completely oil free.
When I get my fingers slippery from the soap another quick swipe over the block and I'm good to go.

I have sweaty hands and they kill me when I am at work. Penguin is right. Baby or Talc powder will work. Also A hairdryer on the cold setting does the trick for me too.

I have the complete opposite problem. I have very dry hands which means very little friction at the fingers so things keep slipping!

Be careful what you wish for!
