    Default Wish me luck!

While I was originally interested in a straight razor setup, I decided to shave (lame pun intended ) a bit off the cost and go for a safety razor to start as I am on a budget (unemployed). All my stuff arrived today from three different sources... off to a promising start
I ended up with a 61 Gillette adjustable in pretty good condition. I assume that it is a "slim" as it certainly isn't a fatboy and most adjustables I see are either slim or faboys. I also got an EJ Best Badger brush and MWF. Picked up a blade sample pack and will start out with a Derby Extra as that seems to be widely accepted as a quality blade. I'll start out at 3 and go from there. Thanks to all the experts who provide great info on this board!

Good luck! I've found that it's best to start with those adjustable razors set pretty light and go from there. I'll also do the same with a new blade and crank it up as it wears a bit.

Let us know how it goes.
