Thanked: 0please recommend a razor for me
I am relatively new at straight razor shaving (1 year). So far I have had limited success with a low end new German razor (Ultimate Pro) which at long last I have decided is not a good shaver, even after 'professional honing'. I bought an old stainless Henckel and a warped cheap Sheffield blade off ebay and didn't have much success getting them to a useable condition. After shaving with a friend's razor I realized that I have never been shaving with a decent blade at all.
Therefore I am determined to buy something that is good quality and shave ready! Also ideally under $100. I know some of the bigger brand names, but don't recognize most of what is in my price brackett. I am weary of ending up with another bad shaver to add to my collection.
If anyone has any reccomendaitons in the classifieds or ebay or a razor they would like to see me, I'm all ears.
Thanks for your help!

First off welcome to SRP and don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have, the only stupid question is one you never asked. A good place to start is our classifieds, for well under $100 you can get a quality vintage shaver in shave ready condition if the seller says it is shave ready than it will be shave ready. You can also try the venders listed in the venders corner.

Thanked: 1903I beg to differ. It might and should be, but there is not guarantee that it will be. Shopping list for beginners - Straight Razor Place Wiki has some further hints, and I would strongly recommend going by the recommendations made in this article.

I should say if i was you i would go SRD TOO. I AM WITH JIMMY on this. they do offer forever honing and you will make your money back in 1 year(counting that you don't hone your blades).
Now i am 1 of the person who sells razor's on classified. Think about a little and you better listen.
