Thanked: 0Baby face'd new kid in town...
Dialup users and those with slow broadband beware! Big photos....)
Hey all, nice site you have here! I'm a new kid (19) from Oz who just bought my first REAL straight razor! Here are some snapshots.
It's a T.R Cadman & Sons Bengall. I don't have a date of manufacture, or anything really specific, but I assume it's from '53 or prior. Scales are a synthetic of some sort... there's also 2 small nicks in the blade as you can probably see in the photos. Any ideas on how to deal with that?
Thanks for running a forum like this!

Thanked: 37Go to the "Classifieds" heading then look in the sub-section titled "Member Services" and send it out to be fixed. From that point surf the "Wiki" and start learning.

And Welcome to SRP
Great to see young fellas taking up this art
(though you do doubtless make many of us feel our age, you have a long ways to go, yet decades from now you will be dumbfounded how 19 absolutely seemed like yesterday, literally)

G'day & welcome young fella.
Those chips can be corrected with minimal honing if you modify the heel some. This thread may give you the basic idea.
