So Many Razors so little time!
Well.. I didn't start out this way but I guess I'm collecting straight razors.. I meant to learn to shave with one.. however.. as yet... I have not shaved and... over the past 6 weeks I believe have collected a total of 10 razors.. First I bought one from an antique store and it wasn't much good I found out after doing some reading... then I bought another one from an antique store because it came in a nice box!! and... it wasn't very good eirther... I read some more and decided I needed a "shave ready"... I asked a seller on ebay a question about how he prepared his razors to be "shave ready" and he gave me lots of information and his phone number if I had questions...I did...so I called him and eventually ordered a very nice shave ready razor from his website....He sent me another razor for free so that I could compare the shave of different razors.. These guys are honest, generous and extrememly helpful... I have personally never experienced this kind of behavior....However,... during this time I had to travel out of town and have not been back for some time... So while I was not being able to shave... I kept looking here and there for other great deals on straight razors.. one thing led to another and here I am.. 10 Straight razors... some really nice... I finally learned after lots of help and 100's of questions.. how to evaluate a razor. Last razor I bought was a Anton Wilgen Red Point off ebay with some rust and tarnish to restore and enter the newbie contest on SRP.. What can I say... I'm hooked.. I think I have enough for a while...but I'll be buying what I need to restore and eventually to hone.. Still haven't shaved yet... going home next week and will be able to get my shaving purchases.. Let you know how it goes.. Maq
