Thanked: 0Rolling the edge
What happens when a razor is rolled on it's edge during stropping? Does it need to be rehoned? Or stropped on CromOx?

Thanked: 2591whats the damage to the edge?
can it shave? if so then you are fine, if not depending on the damage you might have to go to the hones evenStefan

Seems like a dozen laps on a pasted strop ought to do it followed by regular stropping provided you roll on the spine.I've heard guys say they got razors back from this with LOTS of stropping on leather but not sure how much lots was.

What happens is that the edge is deflected .... rolled or bent out of the plane that it is properly in. So it may be possible to push it back with further stropping but the super thin foil like steel is weakened and may break off microscopically. If that happens it is back to square one. IOW, the hones.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 0Well, it wasn't the worse roll but it sure wasn't pretty. I'll try the pasted strop and strop it on the regular leather ALOT. If that still doesn't do anything then I will be forced to send it out to a honemeister. Probably Lynn.
