Thanked: 0Newbie College Student
Hi all, this is my first post
I am wondering as to if it is possible to shave with mild acne. I don't have a lot of pimples, but there are definitely a few around where i would be shaving. Will they be sliced off? If so will it hurt? Should I just not shave with pimples? Right now I am just using a beard trimmer to shave, because I am keeping most of my chin hair, but since what little grows is so uneven I still need to clean it up a lot (the left side has hair from the sideburn to my chin, the right has a large gap). I have not shaved with anything non electric since high school (I gave up on regular safety razors since even when I did not use shaving cream I could not get a close shave, so i figured why bother and moved to electric).
Also, the classifieds here are somewhat limited as far as newbie razors, is there another place to look? I am trying to get the recommended half hollow, 6/8, round point and there are not too many options.
Thanks!

I'll let someone who knows more about acne answer that part, but as far as hurting goes, you're not likely to hurt from anything done with a razor. Heck, I've really got myself a couple times and these things are so sharp that they don't hurt when they go for a dive.

hmm dunno, i'd put money that you'll slice those off. i've shaved over a pimple and it's been perfectly intact afterwards, but i've been at this for a while.

I started at 16 years old.
Acne won't change your shaving routine, you'll be fine.

can't say that you'll have the same reaction, but i have pretty sensitive skin as well. shaving with a straight has actually helped my face a lot! i still breakout every once in a while, but i can pretty much shave right over it without really slicing or irritating them.

Thanked: 2One of my two cuts came from trimming the top off of a little bump (not really even a full pimple) but it didn't hurt at all, and I don't have a styptic pencil, but it still didn't leave a scab (I just stuck a piece of toilet paper to it and pulled it off when it was dry)
