Thanked: 12When do you get promoted?
OK, so we're no longer newbies
When do I stop posting in the beginner's forum and move to the topic specific forums?
I have a question about using the straight. While I'm still a beginner and will probably post my question here, I am curious when I should start posting on the other forum. I've been using a straight for only a couple months and a dozen shaves or so. I can get a decent shave with just the straight, but I still use a DE for the mustache. (I have braces on my teeth, so my upper lip basically has a speed bump that the straight doesn't like hehe).

Just puff your mouth up like a monkey and use your jaw to move the skin.

There's no restriction. I guess the Beginners forum is there to get you comfortable with the place, & ask a few real new guy questions! If there's a forum that your question would be more suited to, get it in there!

The beginners forum is just a convenient place for those starting out to have a one stop place to ask basic questions however, feel free to use the entire site as you see fit.

One of the (many) nice things about these forums is the way in which this one is frequented by long term, very knowledgeable posters (see above for a few examples). It's always worth looking in here, not only to help but to learn… even after you're not really a beginner anymore.
