    Default Razor storage

So as I get ready to buy a straight, sometime in Jan, I cant help but wonder where I should keep them. If I keep them in the bathroom wouldnt they get rusted? To start out I'll probably only use the one I buy a couple times of week, to get technique down, and let the cuts heal. So do you guys just keep your razors in the bathroom or go get them after you get out of the shower? I know if they are going to be stored for a while, a controlled humidity box with camamille oil should be used.

I keep mine out of the way in my bedroom. Humidity is one thing, curious visitors who have to use the bathroom is another.

I keep mine in the bathroom. I bought an old barbers' travel box from scaramanga.co.uk for about £30, or approx' $50. Works great, lockable and has a mirror! Don't know what shipping to the US would be though.

Mine stay in the bathroom. I've got kids so I keep them in a lockable box (the razors not the kids). (Was in the cabinet, but young son was still able to get to it - luckily he was interested in my shaving brush rather than the razor).

This is my storage (at the bottom of the page):
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/shavi...-you-do-3.html

My brush usually perches on top of my shaving cup and air dries.

I also keep a barber hone in the box (wrapped in the cloth).

No issues with moisture - you could probably also stick in one of those silica gel packets you find in some medicine jars.

If you're looking for the different ways of storing you can try the search button and type in relevant key words.

    All the best,
    Michael.

I bought one of those and not one of my razors will fit in it, not even my little 4/8 razors.

Gutted, my razors fit fine, plenty of room in there. Thiers-Issard sell a gentleman's travel box, looks really nice, fits 2 razors, soap bowl, strop etc. Unfortunately it's nearly £200!

Just in the bathroom on a ledge next to the sink. No problems with humidity - but I use it everyday.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

I keep some in drawers outside of the b-room and others in an old machinist's tool chest. I wouldn't take a chance on corrosion leaving them in an area with humidity or as danny said where others might handle them. I've seen too many threads where razors suddenly develop 'mysterious chips'.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have a shaving shelf in my bathroom on which I keep razors of all types as well as other shaving stuff. This is an older picture, there are 4 straight razors to the right of my scuttle now.

Cool thanks for the info guys, I'll put them in closet just to be safe or maybe under the sink in the cabinet.
