Default My first razor and I broke the scales!

I just got my hone in the mail and I decided to do both honing and repinning at the same time. Apparently I used a bit too much force with the brass rod and snapped the tip off one of the plastic scales. Looks like I'm set back a bit on getting started. All of the scale & pin kits that classic shaving have are sold out, except of course for the $70 and up ones.

I guess it's the DE for a bit longer.

Just run down to the hardware store and get your self a piece of clear acrylic (plexiglass). Trace the old scale onto the acrylic and cut it out. Brand new set of scales for a cheap price. Very easy to do and very quick.

Shouldn't be much of a problem. One of the restorers in Member Services - Straight Razor Place Classifieds will help you out.
