Thanked: 0Help me buy!
Hi All,
New user here and very impressed with the community. I'm looking to buy and use my first razor but am on a very tight budget. I like the idea of shaving with a truly vintage razor (more than 60 years old) and have been trying to find a shave-ready razor in my price range. These are the specs I am looking at. Obviously, this is a wish list as far as cosmetics, age and brand go.
Less flexible:
-Either a Solingen, Sheffield or equally reputable blade
- 5/8 - 6/8
- half-ground
- shave ready
More flexible:
- at least 60 years old, the older the better
- good shape/decades of use left
- flexible on blade shape
- scales of natural material (animal, wood, etc)
I was hoping to get one in the neighborhood of $30 but could go a bit higher. Is this reasonable? Better yet, can anyone sell or know someone who can sell this to me?
Thanks so much
-Joe

Take a look through the classifieds. I can't say for certain but I would have to assume there are a bunch there that meet your needs.
Also, I can't say for sure, but this thread may be locked, as it looks a lot like a WTB ad and this is not the place for those. Unless you are asking for recommendations for a new razor, in which case I think an entry level Dovo is the least expensive current production razor that will shave well.

Check out the classifieds and be prepared to spend 60$ and up for a good quality and pre sharpened blade.

Since you have pretty good idea what you want and the classiffieds just got a section where WTB ads can be posted you should do that.
$30 is probably a bit low these days (I'd consider it below market value for what you're looking), so I'd recommend you just be more careful with your selection, as you can easily just waste $30 on junk.
