Thanked: 1Newbie here
Been on this site a few times after reading about it on B&B and thought I should sign up and get involved, as its the best way to learn imo.
Thinking about getting my 1st straight (most likely the beginners razor & strop from RenRup) sometime next year.
I have been using a DE for around 3 years & a shavette for 6 or so months. When my batch of 30 or so DE blades comes to an end, I think that is when I am likely to put an order in.
Thanks for having me & I am sure there will be a few members from B&B here who I will come across on my travels through your forums!

Hi Chris, Welcome to SRP. I see you live in London. Forum member blue principle is in the UK and is the proprietor of The Invisible Edge here. IME he is a real good honer and sells top shelf straights including vintage razors and new Theirs Issard razors.
Since you have been wet shaving for 3 years you've got a lot of the learning curve behind you. With the prep and the lathering learned and with practicing with the shavette you should get the hang of shaving with a straight quickly.
Here is the SRP Wiki with tutorials and videos that are useful. A lot of members in your neck of the woods. They'll no doubt be along soon.Last edited by JimmyHAD; 12-24-2009 at 10:40 PM.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
