    Default Couple Quick Questions

    Hey,
First off great site. Helped me so much. I'm about five shaves in and I'm having a great time with this. Not the greatsest shaves ever but it's closer every time.
My questions are, Is there anyone in Calgary Alberta that can hone a razor? I have a TI that needs a light touch up, and a boker in the mail that I have yet to see the edge. I can send it out of town but if i can find someone in town that would be better.
Also, I'm wondering if I have a barbers hone, linen and leather strop, do I need pastes to keep up an honesters edge? any recomendations would be great.
    Thanks for the help.

    Smile Welcome, MadButcher

Those tools should keep you going for quite a while, but it also may take you some time to get used to using them well.

I'm sure the Calgary contingent will weigh in to help you here.

    Thanks for the help.
if you can post pic of barber hone we could guide you better. pastes alone can do the job too.

Thanks for the replies. I havent recieved the hone just yet so Ill see about a pic when it comes. I just didnt want to paste up my strop if the barber hone does the same thing. I have some Dovo pastes but I know too little about it to use them. Anyway Im kind of at a standstill until I can get a proper edge on these things. thanks again.

Hello, and welcome to SRP and the wonderful world of wet shaving. +1 on what has already been said. I believe Rasage Poulin is in Calgary, you might try and contact Scott and see if he knows of any honemeisters locally. You might also check the member map under community at the top of the page.

Yup. I'm in Calgary. I don't hone for hire, but I can provide contact info for someone who does.
