Default Best way to treat/condition a strop?

I just got my strop in the other day and was wondering the best and cheapest stuff to put on it to get going?

If its new it shouldnt need anything, if its vintage(used) it may need to be cleaned up with some saddle soap and then maybe a dose of neatsfoot oil for preservation of the leather.

    +1.

A little tip with new strops that has worked well with both of mine is to just rub them with the palm of your hand once or twice a week. The oils from your skin treat the leather very well and keep it nice and supple.

This wont work to repair strops though, you'll need to follow nun2sharps advice for that..! This will just maintain them.
