Thanked: 10What should stropping sound like?
As I am stropping I am wondering what it should sound like. It sounds pretty even to me with a blade ting at some point. Should it sound like wind blowing over grass or metal or what? I have watched a few vids but I cant really hear the sound theirs is making. I am trying to use very little pressure but am not really sure what I am going for.
Thanks
Jared

Thanked: 530Also, the videos right beneath the hearing section are very helpful. Watch the one of Seraphim (in his pretty Kimono :P) That's how I strop. Pull the strop tight, but don't over-do it (the sore shoulder sucks) and use just a littel pressure... I don't believe in the whole "just the pressure of the blade, light as a kiss" thing... A little pressure (just a very little) helps me get better results.
YMMV though...
