Default I ordered my first straight razor

I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my first straight razor. Here is what I ordered:

    DOVO Straight Razors

what do you think? Now since it is from classicshaving.com and was labeled pre-sharpened, it will be really to use when I get it, right? It won't need anymore honing before I use it right? Will I need to strop it before I use it?

Should be ready if they say it is pre-sharpened. If I were you I would try it without stropping so you leave that out of the equation. You can always strop it if you feel it needs a little extra something, Here is a 1961 barber manual excerpt from the SRP Wiki help files with some good tips on learning to strop correctly in the last couple of pages.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Warbler,

    I really like my Dovo blades ( I started with a 5/8 Best half-hollow).

The 6/8 Tortoise (carbon) & 5/8 EnVogue (stainless) I have shave really, really nicely.

Another good thing about the Dovo carbon blades is that they are very easy to maintain & touch-up.

    Best of luck

    Have fun !

    regards

    Russ

+1 on Jimmy on that first sentence.

However, I have different opinion on stropping if it needs "extra": If this is your first straight, admit that it is plenty sharp and tune your prep and technique, rather than go strop with it in the middle of first shave: there's always the danger of going "a little pulling -> I'll just touch it up a tad -> Still harsh -> Now I don't know if I rolled the edge or is it in my technique..."

Hope you enjoy your razor, in the future i would use Vintagebladesllc, or straightrazordesigns, i order most all my stuff form vintage blades, there cheaper then most places and free shipping over 100 bucks, also both sites r Professionally honed by Lynn Abrams, so u know its going to be perfect when you get it,

I was able to cancel the order, and I've order the same model from straightrazordesigns. That should be ready to use right out of the box correct? I shouldn't have to strop it before the first shave right?
