    Add some glycerine to the mix and it helps. Look in the wiki for Uberlather.

    In chem labs they have a thing called a boiling stone
    that helps nucleate the boiling.. You can also use
    a toothpick or half a chopstick.

    Superheated water can boil over in an instant and hurt you.

    Up to the day I got myself an inexpensive water kettle
    I used my microwave to boil water and caution is in order.

    Use a large Pyrex(tm) measuring cup 1/3 full with half
    a wooden chopstick and you should be ok.
