Thread: Did a DE and Str8 shave

Ok group,

I have been str8 shaving for about 3 weeks now and getting exceptional shaves.

I bought an Edwin Jagger DE89 and some Derby blades to act as either my travel razor or back-up when I don't have time for a full SRS.

I shaved today with the DE89 and here is my feedback.

The DE89 shaved like a dream. Several times I had to stop and make sure I had the blade in. The resulting shave was better already than my old M3. No burn, sting, nicks or blood of any kind. Really really nice.

However, the resulting shave was no match for my DOVO Special. I might need some break in for the DE89, and it is a very good substitute, but I have to give it to the str8 right now.

Cool, stick with the straight. It's already better, why confuse the issue? Good luck, David.

Though I use a straight every day when I'm in a hurry I'll use a DE from time to time. I always get a great shave from a DE however your right its just no match for a straight.
