Thanked: 0Hello from the "Redneck Riviera"
Hello All,
I live in the Panhandle of Florida. I have been lurking here for quite a while now. Should have registered and introduced myself weeks ago. Anyway...
I have been DE wetshaving for a couple of months now...but find myself spending an inordinate amount of time on this website. I am borderline obsessed, and haven't even put a straight razor to my face yet. I ordered "The World of Straight Razor Shaving" a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was great! Family didn't enjoy watching it, nearly as much as I did though
I bought a brand new Dovo, and a couple of older razors off ebay (I know, I know). I will send them all off to get honed soon. In the meantime, I am planning ahead for my next purchases, and reading up on strops and hones.
Certainly glad I found another way to spend lots of money. Thanks a lot guys.
Seriously, this is a great site. Lots of good information here. What did we do, before we had the internet!?!
v/r Larry

Welcome to SRP! Good luck with the new purchases, but if you haven't gotten it yet, you'll certainly need a strop. The hone can probably wait. Do you know if the Dovo will be shave ready? Certain vendors sell the shave ready and others don't. The ebay razors can just about be guaranteed not to be shave ready.
Making the Fam watch the "World of Straight Razor Shaving" DVD.... Hilarious!

Welcome Larry, You will find that there is always something else that you just have to have. It's called AD (aquisition disorder) and you have a a great bunch of people here that will gladly help support you in this. Good luck with your first shave once you get your razors honed,
Here is a link to the basic set up you will need to get off to a good start. Shopping list for beginners - Straight Razor Place Wiki
