There is a test that provides some guidance, the hanging hair test, but it's very subjective and is more like inventing your own guidelines from a template. While imperfect I think it's useful, and rather than post a link whilst not knowing local customs, I'll suggest you google HHT and Razor as keywords. That'll do it.
