    Default First shave video

Last week my little brother was in town and while his first razor was not quite ready (it is sitting in my lap taking a short break from honing while I post this) I did give him some instruction and the loan of one of my favorite blades for his first shave. I just happened to have one of my work cameras with me at home when he came over and under the advice of some of teh guysin chat I decided to record his first shave.

This should be handy for beginners as you can see some of the mistakes he made. I uploaded it to Viddler as they have a handy in line commenting tool which allows pop-up notes as the video plays. This should be useful for some of the more experienced members to give tips about his mistakes or to contradict any crazy information I gave him in his attempt. I do think you need to be a site member to make comments, but they might have fixed that and sign-up is pretty easy if not.

    I hope it helps.

Not a bad go for his first shave.. Well done! I've seen much worse and more blood on videos before

I've got a Canon HV30 presently, and a shotgun mic is the next thing I'm going to get for it.

cool vid, wish I had someone to show me the ropes. Be a lot easier than for someone to say, wrong angle, too steep narrow etc.

Wow! Can't believe how watching this got my adrenaline to pumping!
I've never used a straight razor before but I'm determined to start as soon as my budget allows.
I'm sitting here so tense it's unbelievable but I love it!
It gives me a better feel for shaving with a str8 than all the many hours of reading I've done over the last several weeks.
Much appreciated here, as well as all the other great info from the whole group.
    Thanks for posting this.

He is eagerly awaiting the razor I just finished to be shipped down to him in Houston. He was in town visiting for a week, but I did not have it ready for him when he left.
