Default I need help finding info on this razor (pics)

So I was surfing around a local antique store/mall/monstor place, and saw this little beauty. And when the "warrenty" card inside was signed and dated 1911 I was seriously thrilled.

Can anyone tell me anything about this company? I've searched but not found anything.

Secondly, does this look like it is servicable, or at least not too far gone to be easily honed and then used?

I've got a small collection of razors started (5 in total) but none of my real folders are honed and ready yet. so I'm learning on a dovo shavette right now. I cant wai to get all in... jsut need to get one of these over to SRD to have a pro take alook.

    on to the pics,

The blade shows no significant signs of wear and it in very good shape. The scales are fantastic too. I wouldn't try to shave with it until it has been cleaned and honed by a knowledgeable fellow such as Lynn or Undream. Good find!

No frown at all - just could do with some honing and de-rustification..

    Awesome find!

Wow that's a lovely find. I just did a quick search on Google and found a few references to Pabst & Kohler; someone sold one of their razors on B&B (images have been removed), there are a few shaving mugs with that stamp on auction sites, and Google Books found them listed in some auditing records of Ohio.

So it looks like you got a nice German-made razor sold by an old Ohio company. Perhaps someone else will chime in with their dates of operation and any trademarks they had.

I'm sure that it'll be an excellent shaver once cleaned up and sharpened. The documentation you have is really cool and looks to be in great shape, too.
