Right on ! I'm assuming it was ordered pre honed and shave ready ? If you haven't already seen it give SRP founder Lynn Abrams tutorial on the first shave a read here.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My first razor was a Dovo a little over a year later and several razors later, still have my Dovo and it stays in my rotation. But like Jimmy said make sure she is shave ready and do some reading it is well worth your time. Other than that enjoy.

    Hey Piper,

As JimmyHad said, check out the first shave info...about 6-7 weeks into this, I've experienced the best shaves from straights, but, other than the the issue of cuts-nicks which are to be expected...you'll have a tendency to hear all this about BBS, and try to get that extra close shave...a new guy may not be on with the right angle, (30 degrees as stated WTG), and put a little too much pressure on which results in RAZOR BURN ... a right of passage to be avoided if at all possible. Light strokes are the way, you don't have to get it done in one pass...and be patient...give it a couple of weeks...taking your time with each shave...set aside at least 10 minutes and up to 20...less cuts, nicks, and with the light strokes, less or no razor burn, which, will take you off the shave routine for a day if you get it.

Light is good for a lot of things, light hone pass, light strop strokes, light shave strokes...

Enjoy and good luck...give it time, you'll love it!
