Well hey, if it's a Solingen and it really is in good shape, that's not bad at all.

But in the future, I'd recommend looking in the Classifieds for razors until you come to know how to spot a dud. There are LOTS of those floating around Ebay.

While I don't know a whole heck of alot about straights....the blade is sharp, polished, scales are in decent shape, opens and closes smoothly and is stamped "Solingen". It looks totally legit to me so I don't feel like a complete moron...lol!!! I am buying a new dovo from straight razor designs for comparison and to see what a really sharp razor feels like.
I don't feel like I overpaid for this straight just wanted to find out if anyone else had any experience or even knows of "Fox" cutlery.
BTW I tried to post pics of it but can't seem to figure out how to get the images on the forum. anybody know where I can find out how to post pics?

That's a good plan. Never hurts to have a couple razors in the wings when you first begin, just in case you dull one of them. I found that out the hard way!

Depends on where you want to post pics from. When you get to the "Reply to Topic" box, there's a bunch of buttons above the text box.

If you want to post a picture from your computer (i.e. not a link, just an image), click on the paperclip on the top row, next the font, size, smilies, etc. From there, you can browse your computer for the image. Then hit "upload."

If you want to post a picture from a link, click on the little planet icon with a chain link infront of it in the second row, then enter the URL of the image.

We'd all love to see it!

    Del1,

i am ordering a dovo & strop from SRD. The plan is once i see and feel what areally sharp blade feels like to then hone my ebay blade myself. I am pretty intuitive and a quick learner so honing is a skill that i can learn fairly easily. I already own a series of norton hones so learning the skills should be fairly easy. Thanks for your help.

Looks good, but it is actually "Trade mark" on the package . Get it honed up and you're good to go. Happy shavings
