A plastic tooth brush holder from walmart, less than $1.

I just sandwiched my strop between clothes last time i traveled.

Apart from the (at present for me) prohibitively expensive cases I've seen for sale, how do SRP folks travel with their razors/strops? Has anyone come up with an innovatively inexpensive way to protect razor/brush/strop while on the road?

    Default Thanks!

    That seems reasonable.

I took to thinking about the issue last time I got home and found out a mini-bottle of hotel shampoo had cracked and oozed all over everything in my kit.

The thought of that stuff all over a razor, brush or strop was way past icky.

Shampoo and other goo (shave cream) belongs in a zip lock
bag that has lots of room for air to expand. While not
necessary any travel case can be improved with a little
bit of padding to keep the razor from banging about. Since
a razor is dry it can also be packed in a bold red sock tied off
with a spare shoe lace so you can find it.

All manner of razor cases are available from many different vendors. They vary from inexpensive plastic 'coffins' to elegant hand made leather pouches. Several makes of travelling shaving brush which fit into their own handle are available.
Otherwise it's limited to your own imagination, everything from a school pencil case or tupperware to bubble-wrap and rubber bands.
Its difficult to see what harm could befall a strop wrapped in some tissue between your clothes. A small paddle-stop is useful for travel.
